Emergency Communications Network (Referred to as ECN in this document) Statement of Privacy

ECN is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This ECN Statement of Privacy applies to the ECN family of Web sites and governs data collection and usage at all ECN sites and services. Please read the complete ECN Statement of Privacy below.

Collection of your Personal Information

At some sites, ECN collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address, telephone number and credit card or other e-commerce and payment information. At other sites, ECN collects anonymous demographic information that is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites. Use of your Personal Information

ECN Web sites and their operational service partners collect and use your personal information to operate ECN Web sites and deliver the services you have requested. ECN sites also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from ECN and its affiliates. ECN may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

ECN does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. ECN may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. In addition, ECN may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis. ECN keeps track of the Web sites and pages our customers visit within ECN, in order to determine what ECN sites and services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within ECN to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

ECN Web sites will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on ECN or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of ECN, an ECN Web site; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of ECN, its web sites, or the public.

Use of Cookies

Use of Third Party Ad Networks

The majority of the online banner advertisements you see on ECN Web sites are displayed by ECN.

In addition, ECN also allows other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to display advertisements on ECN Web sites. To do this, ad networks place a persistent cookie on your computer. Doing this allows the ad network to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad networks may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. ECN does not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third-party ad servers or ad networks.

If you want to prevent one of these third-party companies from sending and reading cookies on your computer, you will need to visit each ad network's Web site individually and request that you be removed from its system.

Security of your Personal Information

ECN secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. ECN secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other Web sites through the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted protection.
